How it works
There is no wiring involved. The projector sticks to the door, and a magnet tells it when the door has moved.

It is brightest at night or in a dark car park, which is where you'll actually notice it. In direct daylight the projection washes out — that is true of any projector this size, ours included.
Clean the surface with alcohol before sticking and press firmly for 30 seconds. Fitting it in the cold makes adhesive far more likely to let go — if it is freezing, warm the panel first or wait for a milder day.
Peel it off, clean both surfaces and restick it. If the adhesive has given up, any thin double-sided automotive tape will do the job.
